Q. I've had a problem with downloading my app. I paid for it but it hasn't downloaded and I've been unable to use it. What's going on?

A. Android app developers have NO CONTROL over the Google Checkout and download delivery process. That's so important, I'm going to say it again:

Google designed the process, maintains it, and operates it. All us Android app developers can do is to cancel your order. If you have further issues, you will need to take them up with Google directly. As they don't have a direct phone line, you'll have to go to this page and post your inquiry there:

They have a special link called "Download Issues Troubleshooting Page"; you might find assistance there.

I state this plainly because some of you have the mistaken impression that Android app developers are in charge of collecting payments. We don't - that's all Google. We don't like it when Google's processes fail, either - it makes us look bad.

Please remember all this when you sit down to write a message saying your download has failed.
