CHECKBOOK GENIUS HYPER EDITION (and its single-account version, CHECKBOOK GENIUS) is one of the first electronic checkbook and expense management applications for the Android platform. The program allows you to keep track of checks, withdrawals, deposits, and other transactions. Based on the highly popular original Checkbook Genius app that was downloaded over 30,000 times, Checkbook Genius and Checkbook Genius Hyper Edition provide convenience and simplicity all in one package. Checkbook Genius is the single-account version of this program.

During its lifetime, these apps' users have had numerous suggestions for improvements. Well, many of those suggestions are in the newest version, Version 1.5.0 - for both the single-account and multi-account versions! So no matter which Checkbook Genius program you have, you'll enjoy a raft of new conveniences you'll just love!

Version 1.5.0 - the newest release - has the following great new features:

Preset Transactions. Presets allow you to predefine any transaction for future use with a preset payee and amount. This is perfect for those with a budget or a lot of regular expenses!

Larger-Screen Support. If you have a larger-screen Android 2.x device such as the Droid, the Nexus One, or any of the latest generation of Android phones, Checkbook Genius now fills the screen completely.

Marking Transactions Prior To A Specific Date. If you’ve accumulated a large number of transactions over many months, you no longer have to go through the tedium of tapping each individual one and tapping the Cleared check box. Now you can specify a date cutoff and mark as cleared all transactions prior to the date you choose!

Number Pad Entry. Requested by many, when you enter a number, you now get a numeric keypad with which to enter numbers.

Scratch Pad Visible in Transactions Screen (Hyper Edition only). Now you can see your scratch pad from your Transactions screen without having to back out to the Accounts screen.

Various Visual Improvements. Clean-up of headings, the account color selector and other cosmetic changes.

Sorting on the Accounts Screen. You can now sort the accounts in one of these six ways: Acct Name A to Z, Acct Name Z to A, Acct Type A to Z, Acct Type Z to A, Biggest to smallest balance, Smallest to biggest balance.

Transfers (Hyper Edition Only). A lot of users asked for the ability to transfer funds between accounts, so this has been added. (There are limitations to this feature, though; see the Transfers section for details.)

Sorting on the Transactions Screen. You can now sort the transactions in one of these eight ways: Latest to earliest date, Earliest to latest data, Payee A to Z, Payee Z to A, Biggest to smallest amount, Smallest to biggest amount, Cleared entries at top, Cleared entries at bottom.

Reconciliation. With this feature, Checkbook Genius totals up all transactions not marked as cleared and gives you a total you can subtract from your monthly statement’s balance. The difference is automatically added or subtracted from your account.

Auto-fill of payees. Less typing! Now when you enter a payee name it’s saved. After entering the first two characters of a payee name, you’re presented with a list of payees. Just tap the one you want to use.

New account types. Joining the other account types, there are now Debit Card and Cash/Tips accounts for those who manage their money using either of those financial models.

Changeable Low Balance Indicator. You can now determine what is “low”. Previous releases would mark accounts with less than 100.00 in funds in yellow; now you can choose your own threshold.

Password masking. When you select to use password protection, now the default is to mask the password. You may check a box to show the password if you think you won’t remember, but now it’s your choice.

Thumb-Tab Scrolling. Have a lot of transactions? Now you can get to the bottom of that list by using the thumb-tab scrolling control. The thumb-tab scrolling control appears when more than 20 transactions are present and you attempt to scroll.

Backup And Restore. Backup your account data and transations to your Android device's SD card! Using the popular CSV (comma-separated values) format, you can even view the data using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel. Both editions of Checkbook Genius also include Auto-Backup, so every time you exit the program, your transactions will be copied to the SD card.

Instant Transaction Search. Taking advantage of Android’s instant filtering capabilities also in use in MemoGenius, you can search for any payee name simply by typing the first few characters. The Transactions screen will instantly filter down to any transactions it finds.

Built-in Scratch Pad. Checkbook Genius (Hyper Edition only) includes a handy scratch pad for jotting down notes and reminders on making payments.

“Mark All Cleared” for Transactions. Tired of programs where clearing transactions means you have to check off one after another? Both Checkbook Genius programs provide the ability to mark all transactions as cleared or uncleared. No more having to tap, tap, tap individually if you have a lot to clear.

Handy Help Facility. The built-in Help is arranged to make topics easier to find, and are placed hierarchically.

Adobe Reader PDF User's Guide. Both editions of Checkbook Genius include a full Adobe Reader PDF user's guide so you can better learn how to use the program.

Vertical Screen Orientation Support. Checkbook Genius and Checkbook Genius Hyper Edition can be used in vertical or portrait mode.
